Police Commissioner Christopher Paris announced details of the tragedy, noting that the person responsible, who has not yet been identified, also lost his life during the exchange of fire with officers.
Confidential sources reported to the media that the suspect opened fire on the officers while they were attempting to “carry out an arrest warrant.”
